Bowen basin in Australia as a typical back-arc coal basin has a long history in commercially development coalbed methane. Parts of this basin is less explored, where is of coalbed methane potential, but with its concentration rule unknown. This paper studies its structure, coal beds, coalbearing rock, coal quality and coalbed methane geology. The structure had undergone a strong structural deformation. Coalbed, 8~22 m thick, is buried at a depth of 100~800 m, high ash and inertinite content, Ro 1.5%~2.5%, high CBM. From the relation of structure, coal-bearing rock evolution and coal quality with CBM, the structural dynamic play a leading role in enriching CBM, which is high in slope or footwall of thrust fault where has a well preservation condition, low in axis of anticline, near the fault zone where has a poor preservation. Enrichment of CBM is also influenced by coal quality and coal evolution degree under similar condition.

his paper, based on the principles of total station, this paper discusses some frequent mistakes in survey and mapping by using total station, such as inputting switched order of setting point and orienting point, XY direction, or the both at the same time, or orienting point/setting point missing, etc. This paper gives correction methods for above stated mistakes via formula and mapping so as to reduce or to avoid the economic loss.

This paper details the advances and technical category of UCG, and analyzes comprehensively the UCG industry. Compared with the traditional coal mining, UCG possesses outstanding advantages in environmental protection, coal utilization efficiency, and economy and safety, but disadvantageous in difficultlycontrolled gasification, underground water pollution, unstable gas components and heat values. In general, UCG is of prospects, economic and environmental profits in application, it is an effective way to ensure China's energy security and environmental protection.

This paper applies energy values to calculate and study the ecological footprints in Jiangsu's 13 cities in 2009 and generally shows an ecological deficit, an intense unsustainability and an S-N gradient. The northern Jiangsu ranks top in the ecological footprint, capacity and deficit per capita, following by central and then southern. The sustainable developing indexes in all cities are less than 0.1 with a regional variance that south and north ends are higher than the central, the southern Zhenjiang and Suzhou seat the foremost, and Yangzhou and Nantong in the central behind. The resource production efficiency in southern is higher than in the central, and following by in the northern.

The success of the US in exploring and recovering shale gas largely stimulates most countrie's interest, such as Canada, Australia, UK, Poland, and China. This paper, based on shale gass definition and values, reviews the advances of the US's shale gas exploration and recovering, and discusses China's situation in shale gas, and presents, under a high dependence upon importing of oil gas, the approaches in learning the experiences and contacting, cooperating with foreign governments and enterprises and institutes, and in establishing a key technical system in shale gas exploration and recovering based on China's geology, and in giving supportive policies.

Land and resources survey, initiated by the central government to meet the social and economic growth, is a basic information integration funded by government; hence, the achievements shall be shared by public via a social service, which necessitates a systematic management system. This paper analyzes the factors which obstruct the public service of achievements, based on three system modules, and works out a system to guarantee the public service of land and resources survey achievements.
